Welcome to Hell on Earth. It’s been 6 years since the initial Killing Floor outbreak began. The United Kingdom has been overrun and now all of Europe is in danger of falling to the legion of undead zeds that seek to devour all in their path. You and up to five friends will have to work together with your unique talents and abilities if you’re to survive another night of the onslaught on each of the varied maps. Bullets and blood will be shed in mass quantities.
That said, when you’ve found your niche on every map and character and are looking for a new test of your skills, it might be time to look for some mods! If that’s the case, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve combed the market for the most eye-catching additions for Killing Floor 2. Whether you’re looking for a new map or a slight tweak on the game, you can find the best currently available mods here on GameWatcher.
Antarctic / Created by wew wew
Strap on your cold weather gear and keep the circulation going. This map takes place in an arctic base. You’ll fight off zeds between day and night cycles, night is dark obviously, but daylight brings snowstorms that limit visibility. In addition, there is a generator running and if it turns off, all lights go with it besides emergency lights. Play the balance between staving off enemies and keeping the power running if you’re going to survive.
Spaceport Perdition / Created by Vampcinda
It’s a tried and true horror theme to have your characters locked on board a derelict space station in tight confines and that’s the idea at work within Spaceport Perdition. Take on zeds in twisting corridors and keep on your toes in the darkness as you work to survive this sci-fi inspired environment that would make Alien director Ridley Scott proud.
The Dark Zone / Created by AJ3D
A remake of a popular map from the original ¬¬Quake, this map is a close replica, refit for the mechanics of Killing Floor 2 (no teleport pads or rocket jumps here). The map is versatile and hosts multiple escape routes from each route, but beware as the zeds can use shortcut routes to get around you and ambush your team if you’re not prepared. Fans of old school id Software will feel right at home in this map.
Team Challenge / Created by Crunch
Get ready to change up the entire formula with player versus player versus zed action. Teams of players will compete to score the most kills in waves. Whoever wins a given wave will score special grenades that can be used to summon zeds right on top of your opposing team’s heads. With a competitive aspect added into the game, things are bound to get even more intense.
Shopping Spree / Created by Zerreth
What’s a good zombie-esque survival game without a fitting shopping mall scenario? Shopping Spree adds an awesomely designed map to your list, providing a quarantined mall, garage and maintenance area. Will you fight from the open and escapable areas of the sales floor or will you attempt to bottleneck your enemies into the back rooms and kill them in a straight line?
SomeTestMap / Created by Willis
Made with practice and playing around with the mechanics in mind, this is the perfect map to go into solo and use as a testing ground. Do everything from playing around with perks and skills to spawning particular zeds to deal with. Respawn instantly, buy from the trader at any time, and activate demigod mode to really dig in and see what everything does. It never hurts to have a place to hone your edge and prepare for the real thing.
Infernal Realm / Created by swift_brutal_death
Come to a realm between your dreams where the darkest depths of mankind sleeps. It’s a gothic inspired melee as you run through the dungeons, ramparts, and balconies of this hellscape where your zed attackers feel nice and cozy. Infernal Realm is a truly amazingly designed map with a lot of twists, turns, and visuals that will turn your head even as the zed are trying to tear it off.
Be the Zed Variety Pack / Created by [TW]Zane
How would you like to take on the role of some of your most feared zed enemies? Take on the role of Patriarch and hunt players down as they stage a desperate struggle to bring you down, spawn as a cyst with extra speed and low health and run as players try to pop you with only knives and welders, or take on the role of a super stalker and slay wary players from the shadows. More modes are set to be added to this mod in the future as well.
Nuked / Created by sxmn
A map that comes after the inevitable last solution to a zombie apocalypse fails, Nuked sees you trying to survive in the remnants of a city following nuclear destruction. Dust lingers in the air and impedes you vision as you fight to survive in broken buildings, underground remnants, and desolated streets. You survived the nukes. Now can you survive the dead?
Ijiek Jacket / Created by Hatesandwich
How would you like to take on the dead in the garb of one of the most versatile zombie slayers out there? This mod replaces Foster’s Black and White Jacket with the jacket worn by the one and only Chuck Greene of Dead Rising fame. Now Foster won’t be slinging oars with chainsaws attached to each end anytime soon, but he’ll still look slick as hell in Chuck’s duds.
That’s what we’ve got for now, but never fear. Killing Floor 2 is still in Early Access and Tripwire Interactive is supportive in giving modders all the tools they need to make new and spectacular environments and tweaks to keep the gory gibs coming in gallons. You can bet we’ll be on top of the best as they come, so be sure to check back for new additions to our mod page!
