Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition is on the way at the end of the month
Prepare your best hacking swords and sharpen your slashing dagger; Beamdog has announced that its dungeon-crawling, remastered Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition is on the way this month. "Oh we also announced a launch date for #IWDEE of Oct 30. That's right, just 10 more days to go," Twittered Beamdog boss Trent Oster.

Beamdog might be working their way through the Black Isle catalogue, with the Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition the latest on the horizon, but according to co-founder Trent Oster some games are far easier to remaster than others. Icewind Dale 2 and Planescape Torment, for example, would present an entirely new challenge. "Nightmares abound," according to Oster.
Beamdog announces Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition
Beamdog continue to go through the library of old Black Isle hits armed with a resolution upscaling paintbrush and a bucketful of additional content; the latest title in their sights is the often overlooked but actually excellent Icewind Dale. Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition will feature all the visual jiggery-pokery the Baldur's Gate: EE received, as well as new spells, new class kits, cross-platform multiplayer, both expansions and, most intriguingly, six restored quests cut from the original game.
GoG.com offering classic D&D bundle with sliding scale of savings
Good Old Games (GOG.com) is offering an adjustable bundle sale of AD&D titles of up to 10 games including the classic Planescape: Torment and the Baldur's Gate titles. The sale will allow gamers to include as few as one game or as many as all 10 in the bundle. The number of games determines the amount saved: 40% off a single game through to 75% off if all 10 are in the bundle.
