Free-to-play brawler Rise of Incarnates shut down after just over three months

Publisher Bandai Namco has pulled the plug on free-to-play fighting game Rise of Incarnates, just three months after it launched in early July. The announcement was made on Steam, though no reason was given for the cancellation. Servers will stay open until December 15, but from today you won't be able to purchase any in-game currency, if for some reason you were thinking of doing that.

Namco Bandai's apocalyptic superhero brawler Rise of Incarnates now has a date for its closed beta programme - sign up now and you'll be in with a chance of playing the game from August 8 at 9am CET through August 18 at 9am CE. Four characters will be available to play initially, with another one scheduled to make an appearance halfway through the closed beta on August 13.

Marvel partner with Bandai Namco to produce Rise of Incarnates comic”

Marvel is partnering with Bandai Namco in order to create a 16-issue comic book for free-to-play arena brawler Rise of Incarnates. Issues 1 and 2 debuted yesterday at the Bandai Namco panel and booth at the San Diego Comic Con, but they should also be available for free at 2,500 specialist comic book stores starting today.
