Fourth Elder Scrolls Online content patch goes live, adds new Trial and an Arena challenge

The fourth Elder Scrolls Online content patch has gone live, opening up the highest reaches of Upper Craglorn for you to go adventuring about in.

There you'll find a new Trial, the Sanctum Ophidia, which has you face off against the "trolls and other nightmares" of the Scaled Court. I don't know what any of that means, but it all sounds lovely. You'll also be able to visit the fighting pits of the Dragonstar Arena.

Zenimax Online's staff have just suffered a round of layoffs, but publisher Bethesda says the situation won't affect the continuing development of MMO The Elder Scrolls Online.

Elder Scrolls Online's European server migration kicks off today

Fans of The Elder Scrolls Online (I know there's some out there) might want to find something else to do today. The European megaserver migration Zenimax promised earlier this year will take place from 1:00PM BST until 10:00PM BST today.

During the process European players will be unable to log in to the server. The North American server will obviously not be affected.

Here's some good news for budding guild masters in The Elder Scrolls Online. The next update for Zenimax Online's game is coming this August and focuses on guilds and customisation, even allowing for custom heraldry and dyed armour.

You can check out those customisation options in this new video, which also reveals some of the other new features on the way.
