Paleo Entertainment has revealed they’re to launch their futuristic shooter Merchants of Brooklyn (M.O.B.) over Steam on March 17th.
It’s powered by Crytek’s CryEngine 2 and uses a cell-shaded artstyle. Set in a futuristic and brutal New York, a new underclass is cloned into life - the Neanderthal - to serve the social elite.
”We really wanted to portray everything that makes Paleo Entertainment different and unique with our first title, Merchants of Brooklyn,” said Paleo Entertainment President Troy Latimer.
”M.O.B. offers a truly distinct and warped gameplay experience that embodies our overall design philosophy. Creating fresh entertainment concepts will always be at the forefront of our products.”
M.O.B. has the player assume the role of ”an elite Neanderthal fighter with a taste for blood” who recently had his arm sawn off. Ouch. With his newly installed biomechanical arm fitted it’s time to bring this cruel society to an end and lead an uprising of your fellow ‘man’.
”…we looked carefully at all our options, and concluded no other engine could produce the kind of AAA quality game we were aiming to develop, nor were any other toolsets as advanced or user friendly as the ones delivered with the CryENGINE 2,” Latimer stated back in 2007.
Watch the trailer below and see why M.O.B. is one to keep an eye on. Is there anything better than Neanderthal cell-shaded violence?
