The cult classic styling’s of 1983’s Lode Runner will be invading XBLA tomorrow with its blast from the past, complete with 220 levels.
The official press blurb declares it the ”the mother-lode” for fans or newbs to the scene. A tournament kicks of this weekend, it’ll involve gamers and Tozai/SouthEnd developers.
Despite its golden oldness, Lode Runner will sport 3D visuals with 2D action as gamers romp through 220 levels and six play modes. The only downer is the cost with the revival tagged at 1200 Microsoft Points, which is about £10.20 - that’s pricey.
The tournament starts this Saturday between 8pm and 11pm GMT, with developers from Tozai and SouthEnd Interactive entering the fray. ”For long-time fans or first-time Runners, it’s the mother-lode!”
Is a classic, even a cult classic, worth 1200 Microsoft Points?
