UK retailer Gamestation (owned by fellow retailer GAME, as it happens), has announced it currently owns the souls of 7,500 customers.
As an April Fool’s joke, the company added the “Immortal Soul Clause” which transfers the ownership of the customer’s soul to the company, although this only applied to purchases made online.
The retailer revealed that 88 per cent of customers failed to spot the clause (or signed over their soul anyway), while the 12 per cent who opted out each received a £5 GBP gift voucher.
God bless corporations with a sense of humour. Don’t worry though, if you were one who lost your soul, you’ll be getting it back soon enough.
