Burnout Crash!, the top-down cartoon crasher that emulates the Crash mode from earlier Burnout games, will be coming sometime in August 2011.
For gamers unfamiliar with the Crash mode, players are rewarded for causing traffic chaos by crashing into cars, triggering explosions and destroying everything in sight. In the Xbox Live Arcade/PlayStation Network version, there are three game modes available across 18 crash junctions in six unique locations. Players can unlocked new vehicles to unlock, each having its own benefits and drawbacks. Players will be able to connect, compete and compare high scores, as well as compete in Autolog Challenges.
“Burnout CRASH! is a crazy mix of pinball and game shows,” according to Electronic Arts creative director Richard Franke, “We’ve evolved the core gameplay which everyone loved about Crash Mode, and expanded the whole experience using music, style and Autolog to create what we feel is the most mindless fun you can have on any gaming platform.”
IGN posted a gameplay trailer showing off what the game entails.
