He can’t ‘bring himself’ to start up Battlefield: Bad Company 2, despite knowing it’s ”great”, because Bach only sees what they ”could have done better.”
”I don’t know why, but I always feel ashamed about the games I’m involved in making,” explained Patrick Bach, in a Wall Street Journal interview.
”I can’t even bring myself to start up Battlefield: Bad Company 2, our last game, because I feel so ashamed.” He adds: ”I know it is a great product but still I only see the things we could have done better.”
Others at DICE, ”including me, are feeling that if they only had one week more, we could have done so much more. People seem to focus on what they could have done, rather than on what we have already managed to achieve.”
Battlefield 3 releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC October 25th in the US, 28th in Europe. The open beta is now running for all and pre-orders have surpassed 1.5 million.
