Bioware has announced that SWTOR players have progressed through the game quicker than expected. Six months after release players are still receiving regular content updates, and for some, these additional objectives are needed.
”What we didn’t expect was that our first group of players moved at record setting lightning speed,” said Bioware’s Daniel Erickson.”We got a game that in contrast to a lot of other MMO’s, was actually fun to sit down and play through the level-up game. Which meant we got the longest play sessions that anybody had ever seen in an MMO. This also meant ‘Oh my god, people have run through this stuff really quick.’ Players moved to a new stage of SWTOR far faster than we expected them to.”
With this in mind, Erickson confirmed Bioware will continue to support the game with updates.
”New space missions are coming soon, but a whole new space combat exploration, that’s a little further off. The game has been out for about six months, and building a real new space game, that’s a serious undertaking. Building any sort of fully fledged, let’s say much deeper space experience, yeah it takes some time and it is something I expect us to be talking about soon.”
