Starhawk developer Lightbox Interactive has confirmed that the studio has laid off a “sizeable” number of staff.
According to studio president Dylan Jobe, the studio will see 24 employees, ”a sizable reduction in staff,” be let go on Friday. Jobe promised ”all 24 of them are getting a severance package.”
He went on to state, ”Lay-offs always suck but they are an unfortunate reality of business sometimes. The best we can do is try and treat our people with respect during the shocking transition of a lay-off.”
Lightbox’s next project will require less personnel as it will be developing its first game for iOS devices.
