The aim of the game is to establish a community of survivors and help them thrive whilst fending off undead hordes. Our bases can be expanded and upgraded, and raiding parties sent out.
Reckon you can do better than those idiots in zombie TV shows? Well State of Decay gives you the chance to prove it be testing your community leadership skills.
Developer Undead Labs is behind the project, which is a studio founded by Jeff Strain - former lead programmer for World of Warcraft and co-founder of Guild Wars’ ArenaNet. State of Decay has no multiplayer support but their next project is to take all these features and put it into an MMO setting.
”You choose where to make your stand, designing and fortifying your home base, performing daring raids for food and ammunition, and rescuing other playable survivors with unique talents. The open, sandbox world develops in real-time, dynamically generating content based on your choices and the ever-increasing zombie threat,” blurb Undead Labs.
A new trailer has been released which shows off this third-person, anti-zombie action game. While the Xbox Live Arcade version is releasing this June, State of Decay is also in the works for PC.
