In an interview, Miyazoe explained, ”The current plan is (to allow) players to choose whether they want to use keyboard and mouse or a controller. Both options will be available. Dark Souls was clearly designed with a controller in mind and considering most PC gamers I know have an Xbox 360 controller as standard, that isn’t a drawback. Still it’s good to have options. “
The PC version of the original Dark Souls was hardly optimized for PCs, with low resolution graphics and a lack of graphic and control options. Miyazoe explained that From Software had a “lack of experience” with the PC platform, and the game was somewhat rushed.
Dark Souls II will be released on PC and consoles in March 2014.
