Valve has started its Two Cities Update for Team Fortress 2 by unveiling the first city, “Mannhattan”, which is a new level for the Mann vs. Machine siege-defense game mode. The day one update also includes new weapon effects and bonuses.
According to the official page, “The first of our Two Cities, Mannhattan, takes our mercs all the way from the sun-blasted gravel pits of the Badlands to the urban sprawl of the East Coast, where they’ll have to defend the manufacturing arm of Saxton Hale’s boutique Mhankö line. Mannhattan’s robot hordes can advance their own spawn points and introduce new bombs into the map for the first time, making for a unique new MvM experience.”
The update also includes a fan-made map, Snakewater, though it’s not a part of the Two Cities Update. ”But one thing it is NOT is a city,” states Valve, ”because this is the Two Cities Update and we’re announcing a second city tomorrow. So for the record, Snakewater is more of a mill town than a city… Please don’t email us.”
As with all new Team Fortress 2 updates, new statistics leaderboards and Steam Achievements and game unlocks are also present.
