Those eagerly anticipating the second act of Double Fine’s adventure game Broken Age have a little longer to wait than we had initially hoped.
A new forum post from the studio’s producer Greg Rice reveals that “the Act 2 ship that will deliver the complete adventure is now looking like it will be early next year”
Rice explains that the team hit Alpha for the next episode of the series last week, but despite general progress being fairly swift there’s still some voice recording and various other bits of polish to go.
“The game is looking really good and the team is working super fast,” clarifies Rice, “but we just gotta give the game the time it needs to really deliver on everything we’re hoping it will be.”
So you might not get to continue your story quite as soon as you might have wished, but at least Act 2 seems to be shaping up nicely. It also sounds like it’ll be a bit lengthier than the opening episode.
“Playtimes of just Act 2 have ranged from 8-12 hours,” says Rice, “the puzzles seem to be providing a good level of challenge, nothing is really standing out as needing to be heavily re-worked, and most importantly people are laughing a lot and seem really pleased with where the story goes. YAY!”
