Due to the expiration of Activision and Marvel’s licensing deal, all Marvel Activision games have been removed from digital stores.
Marvel originally announced that it would pull games featuring Spider-Man, the X-Men, Deadpool, and more from all digital stores on December 21. Dan Amrich, Activision’s community manager, confirmed the pull on his twitter page.
For those asking about it: Marvel Activision titles are no longer available for digital download. http://t.co/pabtJkcDnL Hence the sale!

Marvel characters and properties are currently embroiled in several complex licensing negotiations, after Disney acquired the company in 2009. Some games, like the free-to-play Marvel Heroes and The Amazing Spiderman, are still available, so it’s unclear exactly what the criteria for the rest of the withdrawals are.
It’s not just Activision’s games that are being effected, either. Marvel has also pulled Capcom’s Marvel vs. Capcom games from digital stores. We’ll keep you updated with the latest on the situation as it develops.
