Warner Bros has finally confirmed the release date for the eagerly anticipated third Arkham game (as we all know, Origins doesn’t count) - Batman: Arkham Knight is coming June 2 on PC and current-gen consoles.
It’s a little further off than expected. Leaked store listings and Bats himself had suggested that the title might arrive in February.
Quite a delay, really, considering the title was originally planned for release this year. It will be interesting to see how Rocksteady use that extra development time.
The developer describes Arkham Knight as the “explosive finale in the Batman Arkham series”. It’s set one year on from the events of Arkham City, with Gotham surprisingly not much better off after half of it was turned into a great big prison in the last game. You’ve got the run of the entire city now, and for the first time in the series you get to play with the Batmobile - hell yes.
