An alleged developer for Rockstar has said their upcoming PC version for Grand Theft Auto V is being handled by the very same team that brought Max Payne 3 to PC, which proved surprisingly great.
This same Rockstar dev also stated they’ve got GTA V running at 60 frames, although didn’t say what PC specs it was running on. Rockstar is yet to announce any PC exclusive perks.
When Grand Theft Auto IV eventually came to PC it was an unoptimised mess that demanded very high-end systems to even stand a chance at running properly, and had very poor multi-core support. Many patches released down the line greatly improving its performance but issues remained.
It’s great news then, if true, that Max Payne 3’s PC talent is working on Grand Theft Auto V which is due to release finally on PC in late January. Specific PC treats are yet to be listed, although more radio station music is said to be on the way. Higher resolutions are also likely.
The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One trailer does a good job at what PC gamers can expect. Grand Theft Auto V releases on PC January 27th, 2015.
