Every now and then a game you’d completely forgotten about pops up to remind you it’s still alive and kicking - which is what’s just happened with Reality Pump’s pirate RPG Raven’s Cry.
Originally set to come out this May, it was pushed back to October earlier this year. Now it’s subject to another delay, albeit a much shorter one - it’s set for release on November 27.
Raven’s Cry casts you as swashbuckling captain Christopher Raven, who’s out for revenge against his family’s killers. If you hate people talking in irritating pirate voices, for god’s sake don’t read the update on the game’s Steam page that revealed that new release date. I’ll quote the most pertinent, and least harrowing, segment below:
”All the recordings have been made, all features are on board, but no sailor feels safe when his ship is listing. So, to make sure we can count on smooth sailing form here on out, Raven’s Cry will now be released on November 27, 2014 for PC and Mac, the retail and console versions will be out in the first quarter of 2015.”
Basically it sounds like the team are polishing some rough edges and squashing a few bugs. Which is never a bad idea, and something that Reality Pump’s previous game, the surprisingly decent fantasy sequel Two Worlds 2, could have done with.
