Bungie’s galaxy-hopping multiplayer shooter Destiny is currently a console exclusive, which is a bit annoying if you’re both a fan of PC gaming and co-operative shooters set in a colourful sci-fi universe. Still, all hope isn’t quite lost yet.
In an interview with Polygon, Activision’s CEO Erik Hershberg admitted that a PC version of Destiny would be a great fit, and revealed that it’s ”a heavy point of discussion” at Activision.
”It is (a good fit), and it’s something we’re talking about and looking at very carefully,” said Hershberg regarding a potential PC version, ”and obviously it makes a lot of sense with the genre and the type of game it is.”
“Again, no announcements, but it’s something that’s a heavy point of discussion. And you asked how are we dealing with the complexity of developing for so many platforms, how about one more on top of that?” he went on.
“You know, developing on PC is a different animal than developing for consoles and so we just want to make sure that we’re putting one foot in front of the other and getting it right, and that it’s of the highest possible quality. But obviously I see the same things about the natural fit.”
What do you think? Would you like to see Destiny on PC? It’s an idea that would seem to make sense, though not all previous console exclusives from Bungie have made the crossover.
