Recently GameWatcher had the chance to speak with Rogue Factor’s General Manager, Yves Bordeleau, about the studio’s video game adaptation of the tabletop game set in the iconic Warhammer universe: Mordheim: City of the Damned. We went deep into many interesting aspects of the game, but unfortunately, Bordeleau also confirmed that there will be no forseeable mod support for Mordheim.
The reason for that has to do with Games Workshop, who are licensing the rights for Mordheim to Rogue Factor. “Games Workshop is super picky regarding everything, from the visual look to the characters, lore, sound effects, music etc.,” Bordeleau explained. “For a game that’s under license with Games Workshop, it’s hard to have modders that will do things that are not part of that universe.”
It’s a shame, but it does show Rogue Factor and Games Workshop’s dedication to building Mordheim as a game that’s as pure and close to the original foundation as possible.
The full interview with Mr. Bordeleau will be published soon about the development, challenges, and success thus far of developing Mordheim: City of the Damned. Be sure to check back.
Also, head over to the Steam page of Mordheim where you can get in on the Early Access of the game and help in its growth and development.
