If the current rumor is true, it seems that Konami is continuing to remove Meta Gear Solid franchise creator Hideo Kojima’s name from the publisher, as Metal Gear Online studio Kojima Productions LA is reportedly being shuttered, The alleged downsizing will result in roughly 35 jobs being lost.
The source of the rumor is a tweet by 3D Realms co-founder, who wrote:
BREAKING: Rumor tells me that Konami has shut down the Kojima Productions LA studio, taking with it approx 35 jobs, just before Xmas.

This only lends more credence to the report that Hideo Kojima was laid off by Konami, which insists that he’s still with the company and only on a long vacation. This also puts the release of Metal Gear Online on PC, which was due in early 2016, in serious doubt.
Stay tuned.
