Paradox is indeed heading into the stars for its next strategy title; a new trailer for Stellaris confirms the leaked Steam details from earlier in the week.
”Featuring deep strategic gameplay, an enormous selection of alien races and emergent storytelling,” says the studio, ”Stellaris has a deeply challenging system that rewards interstellar exploration as you traverse, discover, interact and learn more about the multitude of species you will encounter during your travels.”
Yes, it’s another entry in a genre that’s pretty bloody crowded already, but I’m sure Paradox will bring something new to the table. The project’s being led by Henrik Fåhraeus, lead designer on Crusader Kings 2, so I hope he’ll be able to take that game’s political intrigue and twisted, Machiavellian plotting to a grander stage.
