Fantasy RPG / monster-slaying training simulator The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt from CD Projekt RED has managed to sell 4 million copies within 2 weeks of launch. It’s an Axii sign they ”did something right” to win over so many RPG’ers.
Now the studio is going to ”harness all that positive energy” and pour it into the upcoming expansions, with the first due this October and the next in early 2016.
”4 million RPG fans spending their hard-earned money on our game is a sign that we did something right, and you can be sure that we’ll harness all that positive energy and make the upcoming expansions worthy of the grand adventure that you’re telling us Wild Hunt already is!” wrote co-founder Marcin Iwinski in an open letter.
”Until then, keep on enjoying Wild Hunt, do not forget to grab your weekly set of free DLCs, and stay tuned for constant updates and enhancement to the game we are continuously working on.” Hopefully they’ll sort out the messy inventory system sometime.
So far 6 of the announced 16 pieces of free DLC have been released so far, ranging from new looks, to crossbows to a new quest. The Witcher 3 released on PC and console May 19th.
