Developer Flying Wild Hog released a generally well-received modern reboot of cult 1997 shooter Shadow Warrior back in 2013 (we certainly liked it), and it looks like they’re ready to return to the franchise.
”Who wants some more Wang…”, tweeted the studio last week, referring to series protagonist Lo Wang, and they followed up by revealing that the possibility of a sequel in the next year or two is ”extremely high”.
The 2013 Shadow Warrior was originally a PC exclusive, a madcap shooter that set you up against a horde of demons and mobsters, with only a massive arsenal of guns and your trusty katana to keep you company. Oddly enough, despite its resolutely old-school approach to combat, it also packed in several RPG-like character leveling mechanics.
it’s an interesting time to start teasing new projects, with E32015 just around the corner. I would not be at all surprised to see Shadow Warrior 2 announced next week, but even if it’s not, it’s surely only a matter of time.
