Science fiction open world exploration games seem to be all the rage these days. No Man’s Sky is one of the most hyped digital titles in the past year, while Planet Nomads launched its Kickstarter this week. Now, new indie developer Darewise Entertainment has announced its own game in the genre, Rokh.
Rokh is an open world, first person survival game like The Long Dark, except it’s PvP and set on Mars. The developer boasts that the game is a complete sandbox which ”offers the opportunity to the player to express his creativity by self-appropriating the game systems to live the experience that fits his playstyle and interact with and against other players.”
The challenge comes from the game being set on Mars itself. Players must deal with hunger, water, the lack of a magnetic field and the lack of air pressure in the thin atmosphere. ”Rokh brings an extensive crafting system - including housing, chemistry, programming, and robotics,” promises Darewise, PvP is a major part of the film, but so is cooperation.”To promote real social and economic dynamics between the colonists, these systems are designed to be impossible to be mastered by a single player.”
Gamers interested in Rokh, which will utilize the Unreal Engine 4 graphic engine, can visit the official site here.
