Fable Legends was one of the games Microsoft revealed back at E3 2014, and since then, precious little had been heard about the game. Now, developer Lionhead has announced that the open beta will be hitting this coming Spring 2016, and that the game has become “bigger than expected”.
According to a blog post, 100,000 new fans will be joining the closed beta, and gamers who want in on it can register for it at the official site.
For those who don’t know what Fable Legends involves, it is a players vs.dungeon master mechanic in which four Heroes take on the beasts another villainous player sics on them. Lionhead states that the game has grown larger than expected.
”To be honest, we didn’t anticipate just how big Fable Legends is becoming,” revealed the developer. ”It’s simply the most ambitious game we’ve ever created at Lionhead. We’ve built a unique and innovative multiplayer experience combining RPG and RTS gameplay which allows you to play, and use your gear seamlessly, across Xbox One and Windows 10. On top of this, we’ve built a beautiful new world full of grand stories and adventures.” This is why, according to Lionhead, that the open beta and game release have been pushed back.
