Kalypso Media has informed us that they’ll be releasing Grand Ages: Medieval on the 25th September. It was previously thought to be released only on the PC, although Kalypso have been sneakily working on a PlayStation 4 version as well.
Grand Ages: Medieval is a real-time grand strategy game that immerses players in a world spanning over 20 million square kilometres. There’s an 8 player multiplayer mode and single-player where you can lead your people through decades of politics, trade, warfare and research.
To give you a good example of how the game plays and what you’ll need to do in order to win, Kalypso have released a ‘How to Play’ video, which you can watch below:
Emmanuel Brown enjoyed his time with the game back in September 2014, saying: “It’s shaping up nicely, and although the comparisons to Civilization are inevitable given the subject matter, Grand Ages: Medieval is a different beast when you consider the impact of the brilliantly rendered 3D landscape and real-time game clock. There are no turns and hexes to consider, and although the pace is considered and slow enough to digest, it’s different enough to its rivals. Those elements alone will hopefully enable Medieval to stake a claim for its own territory.”
Grand Ages: Medieval will be released on 25th September for both PC and PlayStation 4.
