Developer Tindalos Interactive has revealed that their upcoming real-time strategy game Battlefleet Gothic: Armada, which can best be described as “Homeworld set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe”, will be arriving in early 2016. The developers also released a new trailer showing off the Imperium faction.
The trailer describes the ships as not being as powerful or as fast as the other factions such as Chaos or Orks, but they are as tough as nails. How tough are they? They regularly ram ships as a part of their strategy, thanks to their super-tough hulls that can withstand collision damage.
That’s not to say they don’t have effective firepower. ”Defined by dense void shields and metres thick armour, these ships can adapt to any kind of battle situation,” explained the developer. ”Their torpedo strikes and devastating Nova cannon blasts are enough devastate most opponents. Any that do survive are quickly dispatched by the powerful broadside armaments, while the Imperium ships’ armour and shields ensure they survive the encounter.”
