Tales of Zestiria brings the nostalgic flavor of JRPGs that reminds of games like Star Ocean, but it keeps certain things that continue to bother current PC players today, one of which is the cap that keeps it running at 30FPS. Thanks to a new fan project though, there might be a solution.
Recently posted up in the Steam Community, this project initially started as a fix for the notoriously buggy and stuttering Batman: Arkham Knight. It seemed to work well enough that the creators decided to adapt it to other games, such as Tales of Zestiria
As you can see from the video above, the frames move much smoother, but it also enhances several other visual and aural features of the game. To name a few, the patch addresses stutter caused by the software framerate limiter and distorted audio effects caused by sample rate. As a fan-made patch, there’s certainly the risk that it may not work for everyone, but it certainly seems like a fairly solid project for the game.
The patch and its notes can be found here.
