Bandai Namco recently opened up a countdown timer on a website with the hashtag #MysteriousGame, which led us to believe an announcement was about to be made about a new game. The publisher has revealed today that it isn’t a new game, but remakes for God Eater: Resurrection and God Eater: Rage Burst 2. Both are coming to the PC.
God Eater: Resurrection is the second remake of the original God Eater, and was already launched in Japan this past October on PlayStation 4 and Vita. God Eater 2: Rage Burst is a remake of God Eater 2, and was released only in Japan back in February.
God Eater is a series of games developed by Shift, and can best be described as a science-fiction alternate to Monster Hunter. Players embark on missions to either hunt or capture specific monsters by any means necessary. Players can use the parts they get from the monsters either by “devouring” them or getting them as rewards, which can then be used to craft or upgrade the God Arc; the only weapon that can kill the monsters (known as Aragami in the game).
Bandai Namco released a trailer to announce the coming of both games to Western shores. They are expected to arrive Summer 2016 on Steam.
