InXile has released a new trailer for the upcoming Wasteland 2: Director’s Cut, showcasing some of the new features and graphical tweaks players can expect from the remastered version of last year’s post-apocalyptic RPG.
You can’t really pick out too many of the enhanced visual features added courtesy of the game’s new Unity 5 engine, but there are plenty of snippets showing the re-jigged combat system and character development options.
Precision Strikes that can disable weak spots on enemies and reorganised encounters are both nice, but it’s the new Perks system that might persuade me to go another round. These are talents that you can buy for your team of Rangers, each of which customises the chosen character in a neat way. ‘Asshole’ for instance, makes all aggressive dialogue options succeed, but prevents you from using any other approach.
If that doesn’t sound like enough to make you buy Wasteland 2 again, don’t worry, you don’t have to. The Director’s Cut will be made available for free to everyone who owns the base game. It’s out this Summer.
