One of Double Fine’s best classic adventure games, Day of the Tentacle, is getting a remastered version of the game and the studio is showing off the remake with a live demo at IndieCade. The developer has also released some scrumptious screenshots of the game as well.
The original Day of the Tentacle was released in 1993 and was a sequel to the equally popular adventure game Maniac Mansion. Both were published by LucasArts and developed by Tim Schafer’s studio. The plot revolved around a purple tentacle monster created by Maniac Mansion’s Dr. Fred Edison, who after it drinks toxic sludge from a river behind the laboratory becomes super-intelligent and, of course, wants to take over the world.
The version of Day of the Tentacle Remastered that is being demoed at IndieCade is the PlayStation 4 version, but the PC version will be coming out sometime in early 2016.
