Don Bluth has canceled the Dragon’s Lair: The Movie Kickstarter to raise $500,000 to create a film pitch for studios to produce the film. However, Bluth states he’ll be trying other avenues to get the project done.
Game over, for now.According to the update on the Kickstarter, ”Today, we are cancelling our crowdfunding campaign. Ah, but Dirk and Daphne are not done yet! We’ll all be back in action on Tuesday, December 1st with a stronger, more valiant campaign we modeled after many of your suggestions,” the update stated.
It continued, ”So stay tooned by heading over to Indiegogo and adding your email address to our page, and you will be the very first ones we tell once we launch out on our newest adventure!”
Dragon’s Lair was the first laserdisc arcade game ever released, and enjoyed a sequel and a spinoff, Space Ace.
