The side-scrolling Mighty No. 9 from Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune will be digitally releasing on PC September 18th, as well as hitting the consoles. Comcept are including Japanese and German voice-overs alongside English.
Deep Silver will be expanding text localisation for Europe. There’s an ”all-new stage including an epic battle” with Beck’s rival, which then unlocks them as a playable character.
”This is a great opportunity for Comcept: The partnership enables us to deliver Mighty No. 9 to a wider audience while adding some great extra value to the game,” says Keiji Inafune. “This comes with the price of a short delay, but we are confident that the extra content is worth the wait.”
“The incredibly successful Kickstarter campaign for Mighty No. 9 through Keiji Inafune and his team has shown how huge their fan base is and how much anticipation there is for a true spiritual successor of classic side-scrolling action games. Deep Silver is proud to publish this game and help Comcept in bringing their vision to life,” adds Klemens Kundratitz of Deep Silver.
Mighty No. 9 will have nine initial stages with another three to come later. It’s a side-scrolling bonanza full of running, jumping and blasting. It’s in the future where ”violence is confined to the Battle Coliseum”, and Beck is the ninth ‘robotic sibling’ that has survived a mysterious cyber-attack turning the rest of his team / family crazed.
