Rogue Rocket Games has launched their crowdfunding campaign for First Wonder on Kickstarter, which is described by the co-founders as a spiritual successor to Giants: Citizen Kabuto and MDK.
The game will focus on Monstro, the giant beast who owns ”formidable abilities that allow him to leap over obstacles, charge at opponents and exploit the environment to unexpectedly traverse vast areas”, and the Cargonauts, who fly around using their rocket technology to try to subdue Monstro.
The trouble begins when the Cargonauts find a fossilized Monstro during a deep space salvage operation, and bring it to a resort planet called Majorca to be one of resort’s many decorations. Unfortunately, Monstro wakes up and goes on a rampage. Part of the game is discovering if there’s some hidden motivation for Monstro, and the Cargonauts attempts to stop him from doing whatever it is he intends to do.
First Wonder is being developed by Rogue Rocket Games. Co-founder Nick Bruty worked for Shiny Entertainment, and is the creator of Earthworm Jim and MDK, and one of the developers behind Giants: Citizen Kabuto. Rich Sun, the other co-founder, has worked on such titles as Republic Commando and Escape From Monkey Island.
