The fan backlash on the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight has hit a new milestone, as negative Steam reviews has passed the 10,000 mark of the 12,000 reviews written; simple math shows that 83% of the Steam reviews are negative. 400,000 users have purchased the game on Steam so far.
A sampling of the negative reviews feature such comments as ”This game clearly wasn’t ready for a re-release”, ”Makes a better trick than toilet paper or rotten eggs”, ”Wow… I should’ve waited, but figured that if Steam was willing to sell it again, all this would’ve been fixed. Should’ve waited longer.”, ”FPS is fixed-ish, but the game could seriously be better”, and ”You mean to tell me, that after 4 months, rocksteady was unable to make the game playable?”.
Not all of the negative reviews dealt with the technical issues. Other reviews commented on the heavy reliance of the Batmobile in gameplay, the lack of exciting Predator missions, the story itself and the resolution of the story.
When the game was re-released this past week, Warner Bros. Interactive gave away free games and a DLC pack for purchasers, while at the same time labeling reviews posted before the re-release as “pre-release”. However, a good chunk of gamers have reported that since the re-release their games are still buggy and/or unplayable.
Warner Bros. Interactive and Rockstead have not yet responded to the new issues with Arkham Knight, so stay tuned.
