Turn 10 has released a new developer diary discussing the development of Forza Motorsport 6: Apex using the Universal Windows Platform dev tools. In the video, the studio revealed that Forza Motorsport 6: Apex could handle 60 frames per second 4K resolution gameplay, provided the rig is powerful enough to handle it.
The video goes on to note that the UWP makes it easier to develop for multiple platforms. ”Apex is actually a proof point of what first party can do with UWP and DirectX12,” states the developer’s creative director Dan Greenawalt. He then revealed, ”Moving forward, all of our games will be shipping on Windows 10 and Xbox,” basically confirming Forza Motorsport 7 for PC.
Forza Motorsport 6: Apex will be a stripped down, free-to-play version of the original Xbox One game to be released sometime this Spring.
