When it comes to modders, there are some wonderful creations out there that take creativity to absurdly intricate levels. That said, you hardly ever expect a major graphics tech developer to get in on the action like Nvidia. Though if it is going to be Nvidia, it might as well be one of the best looking mods out there, right? Well, we’ve got news for you. Nvidia is playing the game, and it comes in the form of Vault 1080 for Fallout 4 from their Lightspeed Studio.
Nvidia announced their latest project in a recent update on their official site. Known for their GPUs and Game Ready Drivers, Nvidia could probably get away with just posting a really exquisite preset or reshade, and their mod does deliver on some seriously fantastic graphical effects. However, the mod is far more, hosting a full scenario and new environment to go along with the graphical splendor.
Vault 1080 takes players to a foggy and secluded church located in the depths of a dangerous marshland. Somewhere underneath the church lies the cult society of Vault 1080, who have sacrificed humanity to embrace darkness and sickness. The player will fight through a hostile vault just as massive as any in Fallout 4’s Commonwealth. A series of quests will lie before players and you will decide: Do these lost souls deserve salvation or damnation?
Nvidia’s Vault 1080 is a beautiful mod set to take advantage of advanced effects that their graphics cards provide, such as volumetric lighting and ambient occlusion to create refined light and shadows. Being as aware of their technology as they are, There is perhaps no better group to take on a mod with extensive graphics work involved, but the scenario presented is an awesome touch as well. Vault 1080 is set to drop on the 2nd of September and will be featured on Bethesda’s mod pages. You can bet that when it drops, we’ll feature it here as well.
