We continue to be very excited to play No Man’s Sky. Maybe not as excited as the legions of fans who think it will be the last game they ever need, but still pretty interested. Even more interesting: Hello Games is wrapping up work on the game’s first big update, promising new features, balance fixes, and additional content.
The news comes, as many reports do these days, from a tweet.

Will any of these upcoming PC games manage to generate the hype of No Man’s Sky?
Of course, this comes after a whole lot of leaked gameplay video has folks concerned about the game’s bugs, balance issues, and lack of content. Naturally, any assumptions made based on second-hand video footage of a leaked copy of a game are pretty suspect, but a very vocal group of fans continue to expect No Man’s Sky to be the greatest thing human hands have ever crafted, and any niggling doubts as to its quality are being treated poorly.
I hope No Man’s Sky is really good, because I’m not sure I can deal with the resulting internet meltdown if it’s not. We’ll find out when it releases August 9 on PS4 and August 12 on PC.
