Oculus has announced on its official blog that their premier VR headset, the Oculus Rift, will be open for preorders on Wednesday, 6 January 2016.
The company also revealed that founder Palmer Luckey will be hosting a Reddit AMA on that day as well at 6PM PST (9PM EST and 2AM GMT, answering any questions gamers have for him. The studio also reminded players that the hardware will be bundled with two games: EVE: Valkyrie and Lucky’s Tale.
It’ll be interesting to see how many pre-orders the Rift attracts, especially with such barriers as a $350 plus price point and the recently reported system specs users will have to match in order to even run the device. Oculus Rift isn’t even the only VR headset hitting the scene, including the Avegent Glyph and the HTC Vive, among others. (In fact, the most popular VR headset involves cardboard and a smartphone.)
Let us know if you’re planning on preordering an Oculus Rift on Wednesday, 6th January.
