Rebellion announced today that Sniper Elite 4 will be launching later this year for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Set in the immediate aftermath of Sniper Elite 3, the 4th instalment transports players to a World War 2 era Italy in 1943. The series main protagonist Karl Fairburne must fight alongside the brave men and women of the Italian Resistance to help free their country from fascism, and defeat a new threat with the potential to halt the Allied fightback in Europe. If Fairburne fails his mission, there will be no Operation Overlord, no D-Day landings, and no Victory in Europe.
Rebellion say it’s the first game in the series built without the constraints of older hardware, which means both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will be able to run it in native 1080p. This advancement also allows it to feature maps many times the size of those seen in Sniper Elite 3, with players visiting locations such as Mediterranean coastal towns, to colossal Nazi megastructures, daunting forests and giddying mountain monasteries inspired by Monte Cassino.
Sniper Elite 4 will feature a full campaign, co-op and multiplayer modes when it launches later this year for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Check out the announcement trailer below.
