Hideo Kojima, creator of the Metal Gear Solid series, has confirmed his new game will be an action game.
In Kojima’s latest interview with Famitsu (translated by Gematsu) it was revealed that his company’s first title will be an action game.
”It’s an amazing game. We’re thinking about everything all at once, including the plot, characters, and game systems. Since certain parts are fairly new, we cannot help but experiment.” stated Kojima in his interview. ”While not to say that it’s open-world, users who enjoy today’s AAA games (The Division and Uncharted, etc.) will be able to easily enjoy it. When it is announced, you might think ‘that’s not that outstanding,’ but you’ll understand when you see it and play it. The genre is action.”
The last time Kojima Productions tried to develop an action game, it was based off Metal Gear Solid’s cyborg ninja, Raiden. Kojima Productions ran into difficulties during the production and decided to cancel the project, however it was later passed on to PlatinumGames. While PlatinumGames developed the game we know to be Metal Gear Solid: Revengeance, Kojima Productions contributed to the title by handling the plot and character design of Raiden. This new game will most likely have the player controlling a character with a gun, just as you would do in an Uncharted game.
Kojima Production’s next game will be funded partially by Sony. This untitled game will be coming to PlayStation 4 and PC.
