Rime was revealed at Sony’s Gamescom press conference two years ago, and we haven’t heard much since. Given the setting of the announcement, we assumed it would a PlayStation exclusive, but there was little to go on. Now developer Tequila Works has announced a partnership with a new publisher, along with the possibility of new platforms.
Evoking the beautiful worlds of Ico and the Wind Waker, Rime is a single-player puzzle adventure that has you controlling a boy shipwrecked on a strange island, struggling to overcome the challenges of the mysterious land. The game will be published by Grey Foot in partnership with Six Foot.
Of course, there are already tons of great independent games out there. We just happen to have a list of the best indie games on PC!
Tequila Works’ CEO, Raúl Rubio Munárriz, said “We’ve always wanted RiME to captivate players’ imaginations, capturing that feeling of being a child and experiencing the wonders of a bedtime story for the first time. We’re so excited to find in Grey Box and Six Foot partners just as eager as we are to make that vision for such a personal project a reality.”
More details will be coming early in 2017, including ”platform availability,” which certainly implies a wider release for the game. We’ll be looking forward to more on this one.
