Though a little late to the game with their announcement, Square Enix has, following a Friday launch, made public the existence of a new Deus Ex: Mankind Divided patch. What does it do? Enable machine crushing multi-GPU support for the title's new and shiny DirectX 12 features.
Being one of the first games to properly support the upgraded Windows 10 development platform - and likely one of the first to support 4K HDR on the Playstation 4 Pro - it's no real surprise to see Eidos Montreal ensuring they make proper use of the new tech by enabling multi-GPU scaling for fans looking to really pump things up.
Prior to the update, those wanting to enjoy Adam Jensen's DX12 features were limited to running a single graphics card despite potentially running multiple in their rigs to offset the need of buying a brand-new top end piece of kit. While enthusiasts enjoy throwing two of the best cards into a PC, others aim to match an aging card with another as their price dips to avoid larger expenses in favor of, perhaps, less efficiency and a few compatibility issues every now and then.
With the new update, those having problems with the title's upgraded graphics can safely (somewhat, at least) turn on the fancier effects without setting their rigs alight.
Those looking to turn on the aforementioned extra workload only need to update their game and flick a switch through the launcher. Though when turning on the experimental multi-GPU support, you'll likely have to consult the Steam Help page here.
