Despite the efforts of a few media outlets, pre-orders are certainly not dead. Apparently due to fan request, pre-orders for the elusive Shenmue III will begin in just a few days.
Speaking to Weekly Famistu, Yu Suzuki was put on the spot to talk about Shenmue III; a game many thought would never be made until he took to Sony's 2015 E3 stage to announce a lucrative crowd-funding campaign that smashed records.
Saying how "Development is entering the final stage headed toward full-scale production", we're likely still a long way from seeing the sequel to the beloved Shenmue saga grace our machines. But due to fan request, PC pre-orders will open on December 15 - for whatever reason.
Enough of the good news. Let's look back at the bad news of 2016.
The developers believe they'll be able to start trickling out more information about the title in the new year. Videos are on the cards, of course, so we'll likely be getting Dev Diary style updates in the future. A common reward for those backing a title through a crowdfunding platform these days.
Pre-orders go live at Noon on Thursday, but the interview didn't give a specific timezone for that statement. We can assume it's local to Japan, so expect it at around 9PM GMT or 1pm Pacific. Where? Let's just assume the official site.
