Red Dead Redemption–great Rockstar game or the greatest Rockstar game? While that question is best left for the scholars of message board debates, one thing’s for certain: people really want a sequel. It’s been rumored for many, many years but the notoriously secretive Rockstar has never made an official announcement. But it seems some pertinent details have leaked.
A NeoGAF poster gave the internet a picture of the in-game map. While random NeoGAF users maybe aren’t the most reliable sources, TechRadar confirmed the map’s legitimacy through an independent source.
Will the new Red Dead hit in 2016? Will it be released for PC? You should keep an eye on our list of Upcoming PC Games, just to be sure!
The same source also suggested that this title would be a prequel, taking place before the events of Redemption. The map is said to be just east of the previous game’s setting. As TechRadar noted, the map includes the city of New Bourdeaux, which is also the name of the fictionalized New Orleans in Take-Two’s other crime game, Mafia 3. Crossover potential? Who can say.
Details are mounting, so it’s safe to expect an official announcement of the new Red Dead soon. Rockstar has historically not maintained a presence at E3, but publisher Take-Two might want to bolster their showing with one of gaming’s most anticipated sequels.
