If you’re a fan of old FPS games you might be interested in Dusk, a new retro-style FPS game that promises to drop sometime in 2017. Dusk is inspired by games such as Doom, Quake, Blood, Heretic, Hexen, Half-life and Redneck Rampage with more than enough bloodshed and gibs to live up to those titles.
Early press releases state that there are three different campaigns made to look as though they came straight from the 90’s era of FPS games. Enemies will range from cultists to militants and mysterious forces, which may have a connection to some unknowable horror that lies in the depths of the earth.
Apart from the main campaign Dusk will offer an Endless Survival mode and a 1v1 Arena Battle Mode that will allow you to face your friends. While there aren’t many additional modes available in the game, the trailer seems to imply quite a few interesting mechanics.
Dual wielding weapons and intense jump pads that allow you to backflip over the terrain in order to rain death down on the creatures that lurk in the dark, sounds pretty intense right? And this is before mentioning the music by Andrew Hushult, who was also behind the music for Brutal DOOM and Rise of the Triad.
Though made by the small team of New Blood Interactive, with any luck Dusk will join the ranks of its other games, like Super Galaxy Squadron EX, which is very positively rated.
