Want to try your hand and number-crunching accountancy in the comfort of your own home? There's no university lectures or mind-numbing coursework here, only a VR headset on your skull and a healthy dose of loud encouragement. Sounds fun, right? Accounting is for you!
Co-created by famed Rick & Morty lead Justin Roiland, the virtual space of virtual accounting is just as absurd as you'd expect from a man that can get drunk, improvise a series of short TV segments and have them feature in a primetime Adult Swim animation.
In a post on the Squanchtendo blog, Roiland and the team explain Accounting in the easiest way they know how; "In it, you do your Accounting. That is it. Nothing more. It is a serious game and Virtual Reality is the future. Don’t question it. Consume your nutrient packages and step into the 5th most immersive world. It is for adults. Not because there’s violence and sex—but because Accounting is so serious and has so many complex numbers, if a child played it they would probably die."
And judging from the trailer, they're absolutely right. There's nothing abnormal about this ultra-realistic take on the age-old profession of crunching numbers and squeezing calculators. Nothing at all. And conveniently it's free, so you won't have to manage your books when you finish up a shift in there, either.
