Lilith have confirmed that their PT-inspired horror game, Allison Road, has been cancelled. If you are in the mood for another scary experience, you will probably want to check out the recently revealed Side Effect. Created by The Drunk Pixel, Side Effect promises to focus on the player’s choices throughout the game, you know, like your choices have an effect… a side effect.
Side Effect has you playing as a thirty-two-year-old male, happily married with your wife Lisa and daughter Jane. You’ve just been kidnapped, placed in a dark location where your only company comes in the form of rusty medical instruments.
Here’s what you may be doing in Side Effect (taken directly from the game’s website): Side Effect is a first person horror game with a focus on player choice impacting the gameplay every step of the way. Not just in obvious ways like deciding to save someone, every action, every statistic will factor into how the gameplay moves forward. Are you in a panic? Do you still have some sanity left? Enough to thread a needle in under five seconds? Or will you not have enough sanity left to do anything but run for the door trampling anyone in your path? Many different activites await you based on your physical and mental condition at any given time.
A Kickstarter campaign for Side Effect will be coming soon. Stay tuned to the Side Effect Twitter and Facebook pages. The game will be releasing on PC and Mac.
